Dub …..

Your letter is nonsense!

By his actions, Monty politicized a non-political art event and compromised the artistic integrity of every participating artist.

And if I was a sponsor of the Art Festival, I ’d be very concerned they might turn on me next. Every company routinely comes under fire from various forces for all sorts of real and imaginary “sins ”and every one of the Festival ’s sponsors has their own “enemies ”including business competitors, environmentalists, employee groups, unions, government agencies and a wide assortment of special issue gadflies.

Look at the sponsor list and you ’ll begin to see the magnitude of the problem if each of their respective “enemies ”should decide that the Festival is led by weak-kneed people who will degrade and humiliate generous sponsors at the slightest expression of “community concern. ”

I ’ve discussed it with several sponsors and they all thought the Festival was been made to look very foolish to the sophisticated art world and as well as the corporate community.

Do you think “big box ”Target feels safe?
Will the anti-alcohol people march against Budweiser and Bacardi?
How do the fundamentalist churches feel about the Festival promoting casino gambling at the Miccosukee Casino?
No one likes the people who put tickets on the cars so the Parking Authority has got to feel threatened.

Dub, the Festival has made the entire Grove community look like a bunch of pea-brained provincial putzes …
